76ers have a first-round draft pick as Nets defer pick to 2023

After the Philadelphia 76ers made the big trade with the Brooklyn Nets to acquire James Harden, the expectation was they would not have a first-round draft pick in 2022 since it was included in the deal.

However, the Nets had the option to defer the pick until 2023. They had until 5 p.m. EDT on June 1 to make that decision, and they did so with several hours to spare.

Philadelphia now will have the No. 23 pick in the draft on June 23 at Barclays Center.

Now that Philadelphia officially has that selection, Sixers Wire highlighted five prospects at that position who would make sense for them. The Sixers need help at the wing, and some players who could play right away make a lot of sense for them at that draft spot.
