NORTHAMPTON – Smith College athletics is proud to host National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) on Saturday, February 15, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM in the ITT. This event, dedicated to honoring the achievements of girls and women in sports, aims to recognize the power of sports and play in unlocking limitless potential. Girls and nonbinary children in grades K-8 will participate in several sport-specific stations and activities and will get a chance to meet Smith College student-athletes.
The clinic is free of charge and Smith College invites the community and family members to attend the 2pm basketball game against MIT (with the supervision of a guardian).
This year marks the 39th annual National Girls & Women in Sports Day (NGWSD). This celebration inspires girls and women to play and be active, to realize their full power. The confidence, strength and character gained through sports participation are the very tools girls and women need to become strong leaders in sports and life. WSF ushers in 2025 energized after the year-long celebration of our 50th anniversary last year. We appreciate all who have, and continue to, support us in our mission – and join us on this important day.
