Nebraska guard Britt Prince earns co-Big Ten Freshman of the Week

Nebraska women’s basketball defeats Rutgers Scarlet Knights

A Nebraska freshman earned Big Ten honors following a career week of play. Britt Prince received co-Big Ten Freshman of the Week accolades for women’s basketball on Monday.

Prince earned the honor alongside Ohio State’s Jaloni Cambridge. The Omaha native scored 46 total points, 13 rebounds, eight assists, and six steals across two games last week.

Prince shot a career-high 24 points in Nebraska’s win over Rutgers, 10 points coming in the fourth. She also scored 22 points in the overtime win against Iowa, shooting a career-high 5-of-11 from beyond the arc and snatching a career-high six steals.

This is her first Big Ten Player of the Week award, adding to her strong start to her collegiate career. Through 18 games, Prince is second on the team in points scored (244), second in rebounds (82), and leads the team in steals (35).

The Elkhorn North High School graduate is also coming off another solid outing with Nebraska’s 91-60 win over Wisconsin. She scored 14 points, hauled in seven rebounds, and finished 6-of-6 from the free throw line.
