Even despite coming off undoubtedly their worst loss of the 2024-25 season so far, the Alabama Crimson Tide women’s basketball team remained in the Top 25 rankings during the latest update Monday afternoon.
Yes, in the latest AP Poll, Alabama dropped only one spot, falling from No. 18 in the nation to No. 19.
This past week, the Crimson Tide play a total of two games from Monday, Jan. 6 through Sunday, Jan. 12, the first of which was the aforementioned loss. That came Jan. 9 in a Top 25 showdown against the Texas Longhorns in Austin, a game in which Alabama suffered an 84-40 defeat for their first SEC loss of the season, as well as second overall.
Alabama would however bounce back Sunday, Jan. 12 with an 84-78 road win at Ole Miss to now sit at 16-2 overall for the 2024-25 season, as well as 3-1 in SEC play.
The Crimson Tide’s next game will be arguably their toughest yet as well, as Alabama is set to travel to host the No. 2 ranked South Carolina Gamecocks, who are also the defending national champions, on Thursday, Jan. 16.
