Brunson matches program-record scoring mark to lead Women's Basketball past Buena Vista

STORM LAKE, Iowa – Coe College women’s basketball sophomore guard Taylor Brunson turned in a historic performance on Saturday evening to lead the Kohawks to their eighth consecutive victory, defeating the Buena Vista University Beavers 73-61 on Saturday evening. The Linn-Mar product shot lights out from the field, going 15-of-21 while adding nine rebounds, three assists and two steals to round off the impressive outing. Brunson and the Kohawks got things going in the first quarter, building an early lead and never looking back. Coe outscored Buena Vista 40-26 in the opening two quarters thanks in part to 19 points from Brunson and an additional 15 from Ellie Wisner. The Beavers fought back in the third and pulled within seven of Coe’s lead later in the fourth quarter but the Kohawks tallied 11 of the final 17 points to see out the victory. Brunson was joined in double-digits by Wisner who scored a season-high 24 points, shooting 5-of-10 from beyond the arc.
