MAUI, Hawai’i – Washington State men’s basketball joins the field for the 2025 Maui Invitational presented by Novavax, the organization announced Thursday. The Cougars were introduced to the highly competitive 2025 field for the multi-team event, to be played at Lahaina Civic Center, Nov. 24-26, 2025.
The 42nd annual tournament will feature eight premier college basketball programs, including Arizona State, North Carolina State, Seton Hall, Texas, UNLV, USC, and hosting Chaminade.
“We’re thrilled to be participating in the 2025 Maui Invitational,” Coach David Riley said after the announcement. “It’s a great opportunity to compete against top teams in this well-respected and historic event. We’re looking forward to seeing all our Island Cougs next November!”
The Cougars are attending the historic Maui MTE for the first time in program history. WSU’s men’s team has played in seven previous MTEs in the Hawaiian Islands, all in Honolulu on Oahu. Most recently the Cougs finished fourth in the 2022 Diamond Head Classic. All time in Hawai’i, WSU holds a 12-11 record.
Fan packages and tickets for the 2025 event will go on sale at the beginning of next year. Stay tuned to wsucougars.com and announcements at future WSU Athletic events announcing the on-sale date.
