Cameron & Cayden Boozer Commit to Duke

Who: Cameron & Cayden Boozer
What: Committed to Duke’s 2025 Class
From: Columbus High School / Miami, FL.

The 2025 class has been relatively quiet for the Blue Devils thus far but to be fair, the majority of the top 50 players in the class are undecided. That quietude was interrupted for the Blue Devils in a big way and the eyes of College Basketball once again turn to Durham with the commitments of Cameron and Cayden Boozer. The number 2 and 21 recruits respectively in the 2025 class, and what should be the cornerstone of Jon Scheyer’s clas going into that season, have committed to Duke. The Boozers are the twin sons of Duke legend Carlos Boozer, who played for Coach K for 3 seasons beginning in the 1999-2000 season, winning a National Championship in 2001. In April 2002, Boozer declared for the NBA draft, foregoing his final year of college eligibility. He was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Carlos retired from playing professionally in 2017 and earned his bachelor’s degree from the Trinity College of Arts and Sciences of Duke University.

The Boozer’s are the first 2 commits in the 2025 class for Jon Scheyer’s Blue Devils and chose Duke over 2 hometown schools in the University of Miami and Florida.

What The Boozers Bring to Duke

While there is a somewhat huge variance in their ranking both Boozer twins have strong abilities at their respective positions and both are likely headed for pro careers with Cameron looking at possibly a top-5 draft position after his freshman season. They both have size and strength that should be beneficial at the next level and strong basketball minds to match.

Cayden Boozer:

Cayden is a 6’4, 205 point guard out of Miami – a four star prospect with good size at the 1 who has an above average basketball IQ and is a very willing passer but also a good finisher on the break – he’s at his best when he can get into transition and find his teammates. Cayden is a guard used to playing with high level talent surrounding him which makes him a good fit at Duke. He’s not a plater who needs the spotlight to do his job and projects to be a high assist, low turnover player. Cayden can get his offense going in a lot of ways, he’s a good cutter and has a decent float game as well and at 6’4 – 6’5 is perfect for what Coach Scheyer tends to recruit size-wise at the position.
