Penn State made a nice move up the basketball recruiting rankings when it landed its second commitment in the Class of 2025. Four-star strong forward Mason Blackwood immediately became one of the top commits for head coach Mike Rhoades, who continues to try to build a solid foundation for a school far more known for football. That commitment launched Penn State into the top 25 of the national recruiting rankings, although it remains to be seen how long the Nittany Lions will stay there.
Below is a look at the current Big Ten basketball recruiting rankings for the Class of 2025 at the start of October as determined by 247Sports. Unlike football recruiting, the basketball recruiting process has seen much less activity overall at this point in the recruiting process. But things are beginning to pick up a bit with six Big Ten programs landed their first commitments in the recruiting class in the past month. That means we have some growth on the Big Ten basketball recruiting rankings to dig into this month. We also made note of the change in national recruiting rankings where available compared to our last monthly look at the rankings.
