TUCSON – Arizona Women’s Basketball has added Kamiko Williams to its staff as Special Assistant to the Head Coach, as announced by Head Coach Adia Barnes on Tuesday.
Williams joins the Wildcats staff from Tennessee where she has served as an academic coach since 2023. In that role she provided academic success coaching to students. Prior to her time with Tennessee she was an admissions counselor at Lincoln Memorial University. While at Lincoln Memorial, she helped with managing applications and enrollment and traveled to events and college fairs to help recruit students.
Williams brings a wealth of coaching experience to her role at Arizona. Most recently she was an assistant coach at Weber State from 2022-23, a role that saw her assist with operations and tasks to help the head coach.
Prior to Weber State, she was an Assistant Coach at Nicholls State for one season (2021-22) where she assisted with overseeing academic advising.
Williams spent three years at Monmouth, working as an assistant coach with the Hawks from 2018-2021. She was the program’s recruiting director during that time and helped guide Sierra Green to All-MAAC Second Team honors in 2018 and Lucy Thomas and Isabella Kranbuhl to All-MAAC Rookie Team honors in 2018 and 2021, respectively. Williams helped the Hawks to the nation’s 35th-ranked scoring defense in the 2019-20 season.
She additionally spent two of her three seasons at Monmouth as Director of Operations, serving in the role for the 2018-19 and 2020-21 seasons. She managed the team’s travel and equipment during that time and oversaw the team’s student managers.
Williams got her start in coaching as an assistant coach at New Haven, where she worked from 2015-18. She coached three athletes to Northeast-10 honors and one to Northeast-10 All-Rookie accolades during her time there. She assisted with scouting and was the program’s recruiting coordinator, and she co-created the UNITY RUN community engagement initiative that is an effort between the women’s basketball, cross country and track & field programs at New Haven.
