Iowa basketball not among perceived top NIL schools

The Iowa Hawkeyes appear to be fighting an uphill battle on the basketball recruiting trail.

In CBS Sports’ “Candid Coaches” series, Gary Parrish and Matt Norlander asked more than 100 college basketball coaches who they think have the best name, image and likeness programs in place.

Coaches were asked to name which three programs they believe have the best NIL situations based on what they are hearing on the recruiting trail.

Iowa basketball didn’t receive a vote.

That’s probably not the most surprising result given that the Hawkeyes are still looking for their first commit in the 2025 class and their 2023 and 2024 signing classes ranked 31st and ranked 53rd according to 247Sports.

Plus, coaches were only given the option to include the nation’s top three teams and they weren’t asked specifically about the Big Ten.

The results of the top programs are pretty interesting, though. Indiana, Illinois, Ohio State, Oregon and Washington were the only Big Ten schools that earned votes.

Take a look at CBS Sports’ results below and how schools ranked based on the percentage of ballots the team appeared on.
