With preseason and regular-season games starting in October, the 2024-25 schedule has been released for the Houston Rockets. Broadcast information for each matchup is available here.
Of the 82 regular-season games, 80 are currently known. Two more will be added at a later date, pending Emirates NBA Cup 2024 results.
Generally speaking, each NBA team’s schedule is formulaic. A Western Conference team, such as the Rockets, will play teams from the opposing conference — in Houston’s case, the East —only twice per year. One is played at home, the other is away.
Most teams in the same conference play four times per season — two home, two away. However, to get to that 82-game final number, a small number of same-conference teams play only three times per season. Those rotate each year among non-division opponents.
For the Rockets in the 2024-25 regular season, the West teams that they will play only three times are scheduled to be the Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Nuggets, Sacramento Kings, Phoenix Suns, Portland Trail Blazers, and the Utah Jazz. However, should the Rockets not advance in the Emirates NBA Cup, the two bonus games added in December are likely to come from that group.
