Carter was named the 23-24 Big East Player of the Year by the conference’s coaches and earned All-Big East First Team honors. He was also an Associated Press All-American Honorable Mention and a Naismith Defensive Player of the Year semifinalist.

Carter became the third lottery pick in Providence school history, joining Austin Croshere (1997) and Kris Dunn (2016).
