The Boston Celtics, fresh off winning their 18th NBA championship, have announced a significant change in ownership.
Boston Basketball Partners L.L.C., the long-standing ownership group of the Celtics, has decided to sell all shares of the team. The decision comes after extensive internal deliberations for estate and family planning purposes.
The managing board of the ownership group plans to sell a majority interest in the team by 2024 or early 2025, with the final balance of shares to be transferred by 2028.
