The NBA playoffs continue on Tuesday as the No. 2 seed Denver Nuggets host the No. 3 Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals.
The Nuggets evened the series on Sunday with a 115-107 victory of the Timberwolves in Game 4. They shot 57% from the field, including 44.8% from 3-point range, the eighth-best mark in franchise history for a playoff game.
Most Valuable Player Nikola Jokić produced 35 points, and Aaron Gordon contributed 27 points, seven rebounds and six assists on 11-of-12 shooting from the field to lead the Nuggets. Gordon became the first player in history with that stat line on 90% shooting from the field in the playoffs.
The Timberwolves dropped their second straight game for the first time this postseason despite holding a 42-31 rebounding advantage. They managed to cut an 18-point lead to six in the closing minute but couldn’t get any closer.
Anthony Edwards dropped a franchise playoff record 44 points, five rebounds and five assists to pace the Timberwolves. He became the first Timberwolves player with multiple 40-point games in the same series and the eighth-youngest in history to score 44 points (22 years, 281 days).
After winning Game 4, the Nuggets regained homecourt advantage. They are 3-2 this postseason in the Mile High City and look to take the series lead for the first time at Ball Arena.
