Georgia basketball adds second Mount St. Mary’s guard out of portal

Second Mount St. Mary’s transfer visiting Georgia on Monday

After adding De’Shayne Montgomery just over a week ago, the Georgia Bulldogs have added yet another transfer out of Mount St. Mary’s. Dakota Leffew made his decision official on Saturday morning that he would be joining the Bulldogs and head coach Mike White for the 2024 season.

Leffew is a 6-foot-5, 185 pound guard, originally from Hampton, Georgia. He spent four years with the Mountaineers, playing in a total of 99 games. He had his best statistical season a year ago, scoring 17.6 points per game along with 4.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists. He scored 26 points with three rebounds and five assists in the matchup between Mount St. Mary’s and the Bulldogs this past season.

Leffew will add a new offensive dimension for the Bulldogs that is much needed in light of the exit of Noah Thomasson and other offensive contributors from last season’s team. He is the third addition that the Bulldogs have made this offseason alongside Montgomery and Justin Abson.
