CU Buffs’ Cody Williams officially declares for 2024 NBA draft

From the moment Cody Williams signed with the Colorado Buffaloes men’s basketball program late in 2022, the expectation was that the five-star prospect would be a one-and-done college player. Well, that became a reality on Monday as Williams announced he’ll be declaring for the 2024 NBA draft.

Marred by injuries, Williams played in only 24 games, including 18 starts, during his lone season with the Buffs. The 6-foot-8 true freshman forward averaged 11.9 points on 55.2% shooting from the field.

Williams, the younger brother of Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jalen Williams, is currently projected as a lottery pick.

Earlier this month, Colorado point guard KJ Simpson declared for the NBA draft, and Tristan da Silva will likely follow soon.
