Wisconsin guard Connor Essegian announced his intention to enter the transfer portal on Sunday evening.
The young guard had a fantastic freshman season in 2022-23 before losing much of his playing time in 2023-24. He averaged just 7.3 minutes and 3.2 points per game this season, down from 27.4 and 11.7 respectively in 2022-23.

Wisconsin is currently set to return a collection of talent at guard entering next season. Chucky Hepburn, John Blackwell, Max Klesmit, A.J. Storr and incoming freshman Daniel Freitag all figure to play big roles in the rotation, possibly leaving Essegian again on the outside of significant minutes.
Oddly, Essegian had recently revealed his intention of returning to Wisconsin next season. This news either indicates a sudden change of heart, or that the initial comment was misleading.
