Minnesota Timberwolves superstar guard Anthony Edwards is going to be asked to take on a larger role for the Timberwolves over the next several weeks after forward Karl-Anthony Towns suffered a torn meniscus. If Edwards’ most recent performance against the Indiana Pacers is any indication, then he is ready to lead the Minnesota offense.

Edwards has played in 60 games this season. He is averaging 26.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game. The former Georgia superstar is shooting career-highs from the field (46.7%) and from three-point range (37.9%). Edwards efficient scoring is a big reason why he was selected as an NBA All-Star.

Edwards, who was the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NBA draft out of the University of Georgia, has helped the Minnesota Timberwolves have the best record (44-19) in the Western Conference. It will be challenge for Minnesota to maintain the top spot in the Western Conference with Towns out. Anthony Edwards showed that he is up for the task, dropping 44 points, six rebounds, two steals and a pair of blocks in Minnesota’s tight win over the Indiana Pacers.
