The USC Trojans watched UCLA beat Colorado on Monday night in Pauley Pavilion. The game was of interest to USC because the winner of Bruins-Buffaloes was going to tie USC and Oregon State for second place in the Pac-12 at 11-5, two games behind league champion Stanford (13-3) with two games left in the regular season. UCLA prevailed over CU, 53-45, in a rockfight which was entirely different from USC’s 87-81 win over Colorado on Friday.
Buffaloes Wire has more on the game:
“Colorado’s losing streak hit four games on Monday night as the No. 13 Buffs fell to the No. 8 UCLA Bruins, 53-45.
“With only two more regular season contests remaining, it’s looking likely that CU won’t earn a first-round bye in the upcoming Pac-12 women’s basketball tournament. The Buffs are also at risk of losing homecourt advantage in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament.”
Colorado fell into a tie for fifth place with Utah at 10-6 in the Pac-12.
USC will secure a first-round bye for the Pac-12 Tournament by winning its next two games at Arizona (Thursday) and Arizona State (Saturday).
