After taking down back-to-back ranked opponents in SEC play, the LSU men’s basketball team was knocked back down to Earth on Saturday night as it took a 20-point home loss to Mississippi State.
Now, it’s back in action at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Tuesday night as it hosts a Georgia team that enters dealing with its own set of problems.
Led by former Florida coach Mike White, the Bulldogs (15-12, 5-9 SEC) began the year 14-5 but have lost seven of their last eight games with the only win coming by 12 last week against Vanderbilt. The two teams faced in Athens back in January, which was a two-point Georgia victory that marked its last before a six-game losing streak.
This begins a stretch of four winnable games to close out the regular season for the Tigers (14-13, 6-8 SEC), who have already tripled their SEC win total from a season ago.
Here’s everything you need to know to watch Tuesday night’s game, including the latest odds from BetMGM.

The loss to Mississippi State made it clear that this team hasn’t entirely turned the corner, but that was against a likely NCAA tournament team. Georgia is in the midst of a rough stretch, but this is still likely LSU’s toughest remaining game. With a win, it has a real chance to finish above .500 in SEC play. I think the Tigers get the job done at home.
Prediction: LSU 75, Georgia 68
Best Bet: LSU (-5.5), Under (153.5)
