Colorado’s losing streak hit four games on Monday night as the No. 13 Buffs fell to the No. 8 UCLA Bruins, 53-45.
With only two more regular season contests remaining, it’s looking likely that CU won’t earn a first-round bye in the upcoming Pac-12 women’s basketball tournament. The Buffs are also at risk of losing homecourt advantage in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament.
In what was a difficult offensive night for both teams at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion, the Buffs shot only 28.6% from the field and were led by Jaylyn Sherrod’s 10 points. The Bruins, who won their third straight game despite committing 24 turnovers, received 20 points from Kiki Rice.
Colorado fell to 20-7 overall (10-6 Pac-12) with Washington set to visit Boulder on Thursday.
Here’s how social media reacted to the Buffs’ fourth straight loss:
This CU offense is maddening. How you don’t take open shots at the basket, and instead pass it off (into a turnover) is just baffling. Missed opportunity after missed opportunity over the last two weeks.

Buffs drop their fourth straight game in a 53-45 loss to UCLA.
Colorado’s 24 forced turnovers just couldn’t make up for the fact they only shot 16-56 from the field.
We’re more than likely gonna have to play Oregon on Tuesday in Vegas now.

Colorado was very much in 3 of these 4 losses, but losing all 4 in this stretch against four Top 25 teams is brutal. This probably ensures the #cubuffs will play on Day 1 of the Pac-12 Tourney

Tough last few weeks for Colorado, who’ve lost to 4 consecutive ranked opponents, 3 of which were on the road.
UCLA meanwhile has gone 5-1 since Lauren Betts returned, with a big sweep over the mountain schools at home this…
