Women’s Basketball Comes Out Victorious On Senior Day Against Kennesaw State, 91-84

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida women’s basketball (9-19, 3-11) had their stars step up in its final home game of the season, as various big shots and momentum shifts ultimately went the Ospreys’ way in a 91-84 double-overtime senior day victory over Kennesaw State (10-18, 6-9) on Saturday afternoon at UNF Arena.

Emma Broermann had a final home game to remember with a season-high 24 points and 12 rebounds for yet another double-double performance for her fifth of the season. Kaila Rougier nearly matched with 23 points shooting 5-for-12 from distance, while Lyric Swann scored 13 points, including the game-tying corner trey at the buzzer to send the game into double overtime.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

First Half: The scoring started early with buckets from Broermann and Rougier from the rip…Rougier went back to the three-point well, followed by an Adams’ jumper to take the early lead…back-to-back layups from Broermann continued to add up points for the Ospreys in the first period…into the second quarter, Broermann executed on an and-one basket to pull within single digits again…the next four field goals were made from range, as Rougier, Taub, Swann and Adams each made one in the run to go into half with a one-point lead.

Second Half: After the Owls got six points out of the break, the Ospreys went on a 13-0 run, which included another Broermann and-one, a three from Adams and a score from Taub assisted by Adams…Broermann extend the slight…
