Tate Garners Third 'Player of the Week' Honor


ROME, Ga.  For the third time this season, Methodist senior Aniyah Tate has earned the title of USA South Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
 
In a three-game week, Tate helped guide the Monarchs to three victories. On Tuesday versus Salem, she scored nine points while grabbing nine rebounds and collecting two steals. Next, she scored her most points of the week on Friday against Mary Baldwin, recording 20 points along with seven rebounds and one steal.

Finally, with 17 points, 12 boards, three steals, two assists and one block, Tate helped her team triumph over Southern Virginia, giving the Knights their first loss against a conference opponent this season.

 

Methodist’s women’s basketball team sits at 13-1 in USA South play and 16-5 overall. On the season, Tate is averaging 16.9 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game.
