The Chicago Bulls are back in the victory column. After a two-game skid that ended their four-game winning streak, the Bulls picked up a win over the Miami Heat on Thursday night, securing a 124-116 win. Chicago got off to a hot start, but Miami fought back, forcing the Bulls to hang on and earn the victory.
With Zach LaVine still out, the Bulls have been depending on others to keep them rolling, and on Thursday, it was Ayo Dosunmu. The Bulls guard had a monster night, chipping in with an impressive all-around performance off the bench and playing 35:19, the fourth-most minutes on the team.
After the game, Coby White sent a message on just how important Dosunmu was for the Bulls against the Heat.
“He’s the reason we won,” White said via KC Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago.
Dosunmu finished the game with 24 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and one steal while shooting 10-of-12 from the field and 3-of-4 from behind the three-point line.
White chipped in with 26 points of his own, leading the team in scoring, while also adding seven rebounds and 11 assists on 9-of-20 shooting from the floor and 4-of-11 shooting from distance.
Both guards were huge for the Bulls against Miami, and White has been leading the charge for Chicago ever since LaVine went down.
DeMar DeRozan also had 23 points, while Nikola Vucevic put up 24 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists.
This Bulls squad has been on an impressive run as of late, turning around what looked to be a doomed season. And on Thursday night, it was Dosunmu who stepped up and helped the Bulls earn a win.
