Video: VCU's strong performance too much for Radford; Rams win 73-50

Score: VCU 73  Radford 50

Recap: After squeaking out a victory on Friday night against Samford, VCU looked to make a statement Wednesday as they hosted Radford. It was another slow start again for the black and gold but after turning it on at the end of the first half, VCU would get the convincing 73 – 50 win.

Trailing for most of the first half, senior Zeb Jackson’s bucket tied it up at 33 right before the end of the first half.

VCU would ride that momentum until the end. Sophomore Jason Nelson led all Rams in scoring with 19 on the night.  Jackson would not be far behind with 17 points on the night.

Sophomore Tobi Lawal achived a double double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

The Rams shot 48%, connecting on 24 of 50 from the field, 6 of 20 were from three. VCU turned the ball over 10 times to Radford’s 17.

Next Game: VCU will host Seattle on Saturday November 18th. The game will tip off at 2pm and will air on ESPN+.
