COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri Women’s Basketball is set to return home for their fourth non-conference matchup of the season at 7 p.m. Tuesday against North Alabama. The contest will air on SEC Network+.

The Tigers are off to a strong start winning two of their first three matchups for the 2023-24 season, despite falling in their most recent against St. Louis on Sunday.

Freshman guard Grace Slaughter and Sophomore guard Ashton Judd both finished with 21 points against the in-state foe to lead Missouri’s scoring efforts. The performance marked the first time in Judd’s career that she has scored more 20+ points in consecutive games.

Judd, Slaughter and freshman Abbey Schreacke currently headline the Tigers in the scoring column. The young trio is combining for 48 points per game while Judd and Slaughter rank third and 11th in the SEC, respectively.

Against the Billikens, Graduate forward Haley Frank passed Evan Unrau (2000-04) to move into eighth place on the program’s all-time scoring list. She now stands 19 points shy of Lorraine Ferret (1079-83) for seventh.

Senior point guard Mama Dembele recorded a career-high 14 assists to further lead the Tiger’s offensive production. Dembele has scored in double figures in two of the first three games after achieving the statistical feat just one time a season ago.

Tuesday’s contest marks the second occasion the two programs have met. The Tigers beat the Lions, 96-78 to open the 2020-21 season.

North Alabama enters the contest with a 1-1 record after defeating Tennessee Southern in its season opener before falling to Denver on Friday.

The Lions are led by 6th year head coach Missy Tiber who has posted a 78-68 at the helm of the program.

North Alabama’s offense is propelled by Senior guard Alexis Callins and Sophomore guard Rhema Pegues as they have both averaged double figures in their first two games of their 2023-24 campaign.
