Toure Posts First Career Double-Double in WBBโ€™s Win Over San Francisco

TEMPE, Ariz. โ€“ Kadidia Toure posted her first career double-double with career highs in points (22) and rebounds (14) to go with three steals in helping lead the Sun Devil women’s basketball team to a 77-69 win over San Francisco on Monday.

Jaddan Simmons, Trayanna Crisp and Journey Thompson added 12 points each for the Sun Devils (3-0), who shot 47 percent for the game and scored 15 points off San Francisco’s 15 turnovers. Toure and Simmons both tied for the team lead with three steals while Simmons and Crisp each had a team-high four assists.

“Gritty win and that’s just what we talked about, find a way to win against a team that went to the postseason a year ago, won 19 games and led by one of their [fifth-year players],” ASU head coach Natasha Adair said. “Offensively and defensively as we are growing as a team, but really proud of how we competed and how we fought to the end.”

Morasha Wiggins (eight points, 4-4 FTs) had an impressive Sun Devil debut after being forced to miss the 2022-23 campaign due to an injury incurred before the start of the season.
