Rocky Mountain High, it wasn’t. In fact, there was very little to like about the three games played at Dever, Colorado in Round 1 of the NBA Playoffs, The Minnesota Timberwolves lost all three games on the road against the Denver Nuggets. Now, it seems as though that would have been a promising outcoming if had ended there.
NBA Rumors surfaced today that Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Anthony Edwards has indeed been cited for third-degree assault for allegedly striking two women when he moved the chair out of his way when leaving the basketball court following Tuesday Night’s loss to the Denver Nuggets to end their best out of seven series with a record of 1-4.
That game was played on April 25, 2023. One day later, reports of Edwards being cited by the Denver Police have seemingly been confirmed:

Citations and allegations are simply one version of the tale right now. There are two versions of the story, and if we’re patient and the right video footage is discovered, I’m confident that both truth and just could prevail.
He said, she said, but what does the video footage say?
Just as the citation was reported, this video some say is of the event, shows Anthony Edwards leaving the basketball court and simply pushing the chair out of his way. From that point, earth’s gravity takes over and the chair, now folded, falls.

If this is indeed the video of the event, then I would have every bit of confidence that Anthony Edwards could be absolved of all wrongdoing.
Of course, there is still a due process that has yet to take place, and then there is the matter of any and all NBA investigations into the matter. Right now, a citation for a third-degree assault sounds very foreboding. But we will remain trained on any further developments. Stay tuned.
