Jalen Williams finishes No. 2 in Rookie of the Year award voting

The league announced its Rookie of the Year award winner with Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero coming away victorious.

Oklahoma City Thunder wing Jalen Williams finished in second place despite making a strong late push for the award. Williams finished with 75 second-place votes and 16 third-place votes for a combined 241 total voting points. Banchero had 494 total voting points.

Williams was named a finalist for the award along with Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler.

In 75 games, Williams averaged 14.1 points on 52.1% shooting, 4.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists. He shot 35.6% from 3 on 2.7 attempts.

The Thunder end their award campaign by finishing runner-up for Most Improved Player of the Year (Shai Gilgeous-Alexander), Coach of the Year (Mark Daigneault) and Rookie of the Year (Williams).
