Chance Westry has found his new school and it is closer to home.
The former Auburn guard announced his commitment to Syracuse Monday on his Instagram account. He was a four-star recruit in Auburn’s 2022 recruiting class and was expected to be a key contributor last season for the Tigers after starring in Auburn’s tour in Israel.
A knee injury prevented that and he was limited to just 11 games and ended up medically redshirting. He underwent offseason knee surgery to address the injury and was shut down in January after attempting to return.
He averaged 2.5 points and 1.0 rebounds in 9.3 minutes of action per game. The 6-foot-6, 190-pounder shot 31.6% from the field and 42.9% from the free throw line.
Westry entered the transfer portal on March 28 and will now head closer to home. Syracuse is roughly four hours from his hometown of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
