Raiders Begin Final Homestand With Win

MILWAUKEE – With the MSOE women’s basketball season in it’s final days, the Raiders wanted to go out on a positive note and set themselves up with momentum for the 2023-24 season when they took on Dominican. The Red & White led almost the entire way, and outside of a third quarter Stars run, completely controlled the game in a 14-point win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• MSOE (6-17, 5-11 NACC) really had to grind out the win early on this afternoon at home against Dominican (3-20, 2-14 NACC) in a game where 38 personal fouls were assessed. The Raiders used those fouls to their advantage though and added nine of their 26 first half points from the charity stripe.
• However, the Stars attempted to make a run in the third quarter after the Red & White took a 26-20 lead into halftime. DU outscored MSOE 16-9 during the frame and took back the lead for the first time since the early stages of the contest with four seconds left before the final stanza.
• Thankfully, the Raiders took the advantage back within the first minute of play in the fourth and went on a 16-2 run to put the game out of reach for good. Nina Perl scored 12 points in the last ten minutes as the Red & White used a 21-6 quarter to coast to a 56-42 win.

RAIDER REMARKS

• The win snaps a four game losing streak to Dominican that dates back to 2018. The Raiders are now 6-4 in their last ten games against the Stars.
• Nina Perl set a new career high for points with 23 tonight, topping the 20 point performance she had at Lakeland on January 18^th. She now has five performances of 15 points or more this year.
• MSOE went 13-14 from the free throw line.
