COLLEGE PARK, MD — Each week during the 2022-23 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Physicians & Surgeons Terp of the Week.
 

This week’s Solomon Eye Physicians & Surgeons Terp of the Week is senior Diamond Miller of women’s basketball.


Diamond Miller was outstanding this week for Maryland, averaging 23.3 points and 7.0 rebounds in three games – two against top 10 teams. She shot 57.5% from the floor and went 23-29 from the free throw line. In an 87-66 win over Penn State Monday, Miller went 6-6 at the free throw line for 14 points with 5 boards, 3 assists and 2 steals in the win.

At No. 6 Iowa Thursday, Miller battled foul trouble from the first 40 seconds of the game to lead the Terrapins with 27 points and 6 boards. She went 11-16 at the foul line. She scored 17 of her 27 points in the second half. The Terrapins won the second half by by four.

Miller led the Terps to a big-time 90-54 victory over No. 10 Ohio State Sunday in College Park with her fourth double-double of the year with 29 points and 10 rebounds. She scored 16 of her 29 points in the third quarter as the Terps pushed their lead to 25. She went 11-16 from the field and 6-8 from the foul line, while adding 3 steals. Miller is averaging 25.4 points in the Terps’ eight games vs. ranked opponents. Sunday marked Maryland’s fifth over a ranked team and third over a top 10 team.
