Entering halftime on Thursday night, another disappointing loss to the Pac-12’s worst team seemed possible. Colorado was shooting just 25% from the field and trailed by three to the three-win Cal Golden Bears.
Tristan da Silva, however, changed things quickly by scoring the Buffs’ first 12 points of the second half to give CU a lead it wouldn’t relinquish. Da Silva buried 17 of his team-high 20 points in the second half and paired with another all-around strong defensive effort at home, the Buffs managed a 59-46 win.
KJ Simpson remained stuck in a cold spell, but he pitched in 10 points and four assists to help the cause. Luke O’Brien and Jalen Gabbidon also scored nine apiece.
