Who doesn’t love a great report card? After all, what’s all the hard work for if the report card doesn’t reflect it.
Of course, the most important report card for Iowa (12-6, 4-3 Big Ten) is the overall record and the league mark that’s now above .500. Still, a little national love won’t hurt anyone’s feelings.
CBS Sports’ Kyle Boone dished out a grade of “A-” to the Hawkeyes’ for their week’s work in beating both Michigan and Maryland inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Iowa took Michigan down another rung in the Big Ten hierarchy with a nice OT win at home over the Wolverines to extend its winning streak to three before comfortably scooting past Maryland at home Sunday. After opening Big Ten play 0-3, the Hawkeyes have quietly won four straight. – Boone, CBS Sports.
First, it was the Payton Sandfort Game. Then, it was the Tony Perkins Game. The 6-foot-7, 215 pound sophomore guard in Sandfort exploded for 24 of his 26 points against the Wolverines in the second half and overtime.
It included this heroic four-point play.

Of course, Sandfort went ahead and added a silly and-one in overtime as well while scoring five of the Hawkeyes’ first six points in the bonus session to spearhead Iowa’s 93-84 overtime win against Michigan.
Then, Tony Perkins scored a career-high 22 points against Maryland. It featured this rim-rocking slam in the second half against the Terps.

Kris Murray went ahead and scored 17 of his 19 points against Maryland after halftime to finish off a comfortable 81-67 win. Just like that, Iowa has won four straight after a frustrating 0-3 start to league play.
For the moment, that slow start is a thing of the past. The Hawkeyes will look to keep things rolling against Northwestern (12-5, 3-3 Big Ten) on Wednesday inside Carver before a nationally-televised affair at Ohio State on Saturday. FOX has that broadcast with Gus Johnson and Jim Jackson on the call.
