Bacot, Nance likely out vs. Louisville

Armando Bacot, Tar Heels aren’t panicking just yet

The UNC basketball program needs to get back on track after a tough road loss at Virginia earlier in the week. At 3-3, UNC is right in the middle of the pack in the Atlantic Coast Conference and a date with a 2-15 Louisville team that has yet to win a game in ACC play.

North Carolina will look to avoid a major upset on Saturday afternoon and they will need to do so without two key starters.

Ahead of Saturday’s game, head coach Hubert Davis met the media and talked about the upcoming challenge. He was asked about the status of Armando Bacotand Pete Nance and he couldn’t deliver good news.

While Davis didn’t say if they would play or not, he did say that they will be ‘questionable’ at best:

Inside Carolina is reporting that neither are expected to play in the game, which makes UNC’s task a little tougher. With Bacot and Nance out, UNC will likely turn again to the three-guard lineup with Seth Trimble and big man Jalen Washington replacing Bacot.

That means the starting lineup will consist of two freshmen, allowing both Trimble and Washington to get some extra minutes for their development.

Bacot left Tuesday’s loss early with an ankle injury while Nance has missed the past few games with a back issue.
