OXFORD, Miss. – The Ole Miss men’s basketball team is back at home as they host No. 21 Auburn on Tuesday night in the SJB Pavilion at 8 p.m. and on ESPNU.

SERIES HISTORY VS. AUBURN

The 144th meeting between Auburn and Ole Miss takes place nearly 100 years after the two programs first met on February 10, 1928, when the Rebels won a 43-42 game in Alabama. When playing at home in Oxford, Ole Miss leads the series 43-26, including a 7-3 record in the last 10 games played in Mississippi. Under Kermit Davis, the Rebels are 4-4 against the Tigers, including a huge 82-67 victory in his first game against Auburn when they were ranked 10th in the nation. In the previous five seasons, Auburn or Ole Miss have won both regular season matchups in alternating years, with the Tigers winning both matchups last season.

LAST MEETING: FEBRUARY 23, 2022 (L, 64-77, AUBURN, ALA., AUBURN ARENA)

• A fast-break dunk by Matthew Murrell opened the game and the Rebels led 11-9 at 14:04 on the clock in the first period, but trailed at the half 43-31 before dropping a 77-64 game.

• Three Rebels scored in double figures, including starters Luis Rodriguez with 12 and Nysier Brooks with 11, while Jarkel Joiner added 13 off the bench.

• The Tigers, ranked third in the nation, were led by Jabari Smith with 15 points and nine rebounds, as Walker Kessler recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS

Auburn opened the 2022-23 season with eight-straight victories before dropping an 82-73 game against Memphis on Dec. 10th in Atlanta. Following a win over Georgia State, the Tigers fell to USC out in Los Angeles 74-71 before heading north and taking down Washington in Seattle 84-61.
