Colorado’s Tristan da Silva named Pac-12 Player of the Week

For the first time since Askia Booker and Andre Roberson each won the award in 2012-13, two different CU Buffs have received Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors this season with Tristan da Silva joining KJ Simpson as 2022-23 winners.

The junior forward from Germany tallied a career-high 30 points in Colorado’s win over Oregon on Thursday and followed that up with a 17-point performance in a defeat of Oregon State on Saturday. Simpson, who was bench-ridden against the Ducks, won the award last week and once in November.

Da Silva’s average of 15.1 points per game is currently ninth in the Pac-12 while Simpson’s 17.9 ranks second.

Led by those two, the Buffs have won seven of their last eight games.

Colorado, now 3-3 in conference play, returns to action Thursday at USC.
