#8 NC State Closes Non-Conference Slate with 81-47 Defeat of Davidson

RALEIGH – The eighth-ranked NC State women’s basketball team (10-1) closed out non-conference play on Thursday night with a commanding 81-47 victory over in-state foe Davidson (4-7). The win improved the Wolfpack’s win streak in Reynolds Coliseum to 17 consecutive games and an impressive 52-straight non-conference games against unranked opponents.

Every member of the team’s rotation contributed at least five points with Aziaha James (19 points), Camille Hobby (14 points) and River Baldwin (11 points) each finishing in double figures.

James’ 19 points tied her career-high set earlier this season against Mount St. Mary’s, while Baldwin tied a career-high 11 rebounds en route to her third career double-double and second this year.

The rest of the scoring effort was filled out by Madison Hayes with nine points, Jakia Brown-Turner and Saniya Rivers who each finished with eight, Mimi Collins, who posted seven points, and Jessica Timmons, who added five.

NC State put together a 53.2 percent clip (33-of-62) as a team, marking its fifth time this season knocking down over half of its field-goal attempts. James and Hobby both shot 7-of-9 (.778) overall, with James hitting five of her six three point shots to obliterate her career high in that category.
