Betting odds Gators-Ohio Bobcats game on Wednesday

Florida basketball returns to action on Wednesday night inside the O’Connell Center against the Ohio Bobcats as the team looks to rebound from a punishing loss to the now-third-ranked UConn Huskies a week ago.

The Gators bring a 6-4 record into the matchup as Todd Golden’s team is still searching for an identity early on in the new head coach’s debut campaign. The Bobcats have struggled to stay afloat as well, putting together a 5-4 mark so far this season ahead of Mid-American Conference action. While neither squad has particularly impressed over the first part of the schedule, anything is possible on any given night.

The two schools have tangled thrice prior on the collegiate hardwood, with Florida holding the edge in the series, 2-1, dating back to their first meeting in 1927 — a win for Ohio at home. Since then, UF has won two in a row with victories in 1978 as well as 2005 in Gainesville.

Florida has both a size and talent advantage — as well as the home court — over the visitors which bodes well for the Orange and Blue. Look for Colin Castleton to get back on track as the team’s leading scorer in this one, opening up the perimeter for easy three-point attempts. The Gators will get their shots in before facing Oklahoma next.

Florida 80, Ohio 65
