EUGENE, Ore. — When the final horn sounded Sunday, there was no doubting who had been the woman of the hour.

Endyia Rogers scored a career-high 34 points for the UO women in a 75-67 victory over Oregon State in Matthew Knight Arena. Trailing 60-53 midway through the fourth quarter, the Ducks went on a 17-2 run that included 12 points from Rogers. An energetic crowd of 6,990 roared when Rogers was announced as the player of the game, she was mobbed by teammates as the horn sounded, and she got a pat on the back from OSU coach Scott Rueck in the handshake line.

“She was phenomenal tonight,” UO coach Kelly Graves said. “And she did it when we needed it most. Just really proud of her. (And) it wasn’t just her scoring. That’s the Endyia that we thought we were gonna get; we’ve seen it from time to time, but tonight we saw it in all its glory.”

Te-Hina Paopao added 12 points, Grace VanSlooten scored 10 and Chance Gray had nine for the Ducks. But Rogers stole the spotlight Sunday, making 6-of-10 three-pointers and grabbing nine rebounds while dishing out six assists in the game.

“Just keep feeding her — that’s how we won the game,” Paopao said. “She was hot from the beginning. She couldn’t miss, so you gotta go with the hot hand.”

How It Happened: The Ducks (7-1, 1-0 Pac-12) led for longer stretches of Sunday’s game, but Oregon State put together several surges that made it a typically competitive matchup between in-state rivals. The Beavers scored the first nine points of the game, they closed the second quarter with a 7-0 run to get within 34-31 at halftime, and a 17-3 run from late in the third to early in the fourth gave OSU a 60-53 lead with 5:30 to play.

At a timeout 8 seconds later, Rogers returned to the game. Her mindset?

“We’re gonna win this game,” she said postgame. “No matter what I have to do, no matter what we have to do, we’re going to win the game.”

She took business into her own hands, getting the Ducks within 60-58 with two free throws followed by a three-pointer. After OSU scored to lead by four, Oregon scored the next 12 points of the game. VanSlooten hit two free throws, Rogers made a go-ahead three, Rogers added two more free throws and then she fed freshman Chance Gray for a three-pointer that made it 68-62 with just 1:19 to play.

“That’s one of the biggest shots probably in her career — and certainly her career here,” Graves said of the three by Gray. “That was huge, for a freshman to do that.”
