Bears Set To Play Pacific Saturday Night



Tipoff Is Scheduled For 8 P.M. On Pac-12 Network

BERKELEY – The California women’s basketball team (6-2) continues play at Haas Pavilion taking on the Pacific Tigers (5-4) this Saturday. 
 
Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. and the game can be viewed on the Pac-12 Network.

Saturday’s meeting against Pacific will mark the 28th all-time in the series history with Cal holding a 25-2 series record. The two teams last played on Nov. 18, 2018 in a 81-69 Bears win.

  • In the 70-56 loss to SMU:

    • Jayda Curry had a solid all-around game leading the Bears with 15 points, which included three 3-pointers, while adding five rebounds and five assists.
    • Leilani McIntosh was the only other Bear to score in double-figures with 11 points and Evelien Lutje Schipholt tied for a game-high nine rebounds, which also marked a season-high. 
    • Cal was without three players who normally see significant minutes off the bench: Jadyn Bush, Claudia Langarita and Amaya Bonner.
    • The Bears held the Mustangs to zero second chance points, the first time they have done so against an opponent this season. 

  • With three 3-pointers against SMU, Curry kept her streak of consecutive regular season games with at least one 3-pointer going at 30 games. Her streak is the longest among all active Pac-12 players and is tied with former Oregon Duck Sabrina Ionescu for the fourth longest streak of any Pac-12 player since the 1999-00 season.

  • Lutje Schipholt has been a steady rock for the team so far leading the team in rebounding at 6.3 boards per game and ranking second in scoring at 10.5 points per game, which is a career-high and the first season she is averaging double-digit scoring. 22 of her 50 rebounds this season have come on the offensive end which ranks 10th in the Pac-12.
