Painting an entire fan base a certain way because of the actions or words of some individuals within that fan base is a mistake.
Arkansas’ faithful know this all too well.
Some Missouri fans aren’t exactly shining a bright light, though, online after news Arkansas forward Trevon Brazile would miss the rest of the season with an ACL injury. Brazile played for the Tigers last year.
Most of Mizzou Twitter torched those who were celebrating Brazile’s injury, at least. But there were more than a few Tigers fans who were actively celebrating.
Part of it makes sense: Brazile being out means Arkansas is, in theory, an easier team for the Tigers to beat (they likely still won’t). But it’s also cold and cruel.
Here are some of Twitter’s reactions across the college basketball landscape to the news of the injury.
When you and fellow piggy fans post crap like this, you should expect a little bit of trolling when stuff like this happens. https://t.co/DAdrVzcIv8

Brazile made the right decision leaving a program that he wasn’t happy at. Sort of a walker kessler situation, showed flashes as a freshman then transferred and started to finally break out.

I’m not a huge proponent of celebrating a player’s injury, but Trevon has no one to blame but himself for the reaction from Mizzou fans. & Arkansas can quit the pearl clutching. They have little to no understanding of what went on with Brazile & also this was them 3 months ago pic.twitter.com/RTT31qa5ks

I truly hate this for Brazile as a person. But if you think the season is now doomed then you haven’t been paying attention. Muss went to the elite 8 the last 2 years with less talent than what remains. Whatever their ceiling is, Muss will reach it. #wps

What is our potential this season without Brazile? We had a natty caliber team with him. Now with the news today thats gonna take a big hit. I still think we can make an elite 8 run possibly. We need Jordan Walsh to be the player we all know he can be though. Jalen Graham?? #Wps
