JAGS FALL TO EASTERN MICHIGAN ON WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON

Green Bay

YPSILANTI, Mich. – The IUPUI women’s basketball team fell to Eastern Michigan on Wednesday afternoon, snapping their three-game win streak, 71-49. Transfer Jazmyn Turner led the Jaguar offense with 10 points followed by Rachel Kent and Genesis Parker with nine.

EMU (4-0) opened the game on a 11-0 run and kept the momentum throughout most of the game. Jaci Jones broke up the run with a jumper to score IUPUI’s first basket, but it wasn’t enough to turn the momentum as the Eagles held the lead after the first quarter 19-7. Going into the half the Jags were down 35-19.

IUPUI brought the game within 12 points with back-to-back threes from Rachel Kent and Natalie Andersen to finish out the third quarter, but it wasn’t enough as EMU outscored the Jags 16-9 in the fourth quarter to seal the win at 71-49.

Turner led the offense with 10 points followed by Kent and Parker with nine. Ali Berg and Turner each recorded five boards. IUPUI shot just 33.9 percent from the floor.

IUPUI will return to Indy to face Green Bay on December 3 for a 2:00 PM tip.
