MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men’s basketball team returns to action Tuesday night when it hosts Green Bay at the Kohl Center. Tip is scheduled for 8 p.m. on Big Ten Network. Before the Badgers host the Phoenix, here are some notes to know heading into the game.

STARTING FIVE

1.) LAST TIME OUT: Wisconsin earned a 60-50 win over Stanford last Friday at American Family Field in Milwaukee as part of the “Brew City Battle” basketball doubleheader, which also featured the UW women facing Kansas State. Senior forward Tyler Wahl led UW scoring 17 points and grabbing five rebounds, while junior guard Jordan Davis scored a career-high 13 points, and sophomore guard Chucky Hepburn added 11 points.

2.) HISTORY VS. GREEN BAY: Wisconsin and Green Bay will meet for the 28th time on Tuesday, as the Badgers hold a 26-1 all-time series lead (23-0 in Madison). The first matchup came back in 1980, with Wisconsin earning a 68-66 win. The most recent matchup between the two came last season at the Kohl Center, where the Badgers came away with a 72-34 victory.

3.) BADGER FAMILY TIES: Greg Gard‘s first game as head coach for the Badgers was against Green Bay back on Dec. 23, 2015. During his head coaching career, Gard is 6-0 all-time against Green Bay. Gard also has a long-time relationship with Green Bay head coach Will Ryan, son of hall of fame UW coach Bo Ryan. Gard (assistant coach) and Will Ryan (video coordinator) worked alongside one another on UW’s staff from 2002-07.

4.) WAHL BALL: Tyler Wahl continued his successful start to his senior season in UW’s game vs. Stanford on Friday night. The Badger forward led the team to its first win away from home on the young season with a 17-point, 5-rebound night. Wahl is the only player in the Big Ten ranked top 10 in the conference for points

(18.0 ppg, 8th), rebounds (7.5 rpg, T10th) and assists (2.5 spg, 5th).
