3 Events that led to the Los Angeles Lakers' dumpster fire

As the losses continue to pile up, the Los Angeles Lakers chances of contending this season appear increasingly unlikely. The Lakers are currently 0-5 and few things have gone right for them as they continue to stumble out of the gate. This can’t be what Lakers superstar LeBron James signed up for when he joined them back in the summer of 2018 after leading the Cleveland Cavaliers to four straight NBA Finals and winning a championship in 2016.

However, perhaps he should have known since some of the issues that now plague the team existed before he signed on the dotted line. The Lakers’ front office hasn’t been particularly good for some time now, and they’ve slowly but surely driven the team into the ground with shaky decision after shaky decision.

Currently, the team has virtually no assets, as well as an aging superstar in James, a fragile star in Anthony Davis, and a former one in Russell Westbrook. Things are falling apart, and the players already seem miserable, despite only being in week two of a seven-month season. Keep that in mind when we take a look at the three events that led to the Los Angeles Lakers’ dumpster fire.
