Rutgers basketball sent out an offer this week to Ladji Kalilou Dembele. The St. Benedict’s Prep standout is one of the top recruits in New Jersey in the class of 2023.
The offer from Rutgers came on Oct. 25 during a visit from head coach Steve Pikiell. Ladji is listed as 6-foot-8 and 230 pounds. According to 247Sports, he is a three-star recruit and the ninth-best player in New Jersey.
Last season at the FIBA U19, Dembele represented Mali. He averaged 7.0 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.
Earlier in October, Dembele was offered by Iowa. He holds offers from DePaul, Pittsburgh, Seton Hall, Wake Forest and Xavier.

For Rutgers, the class of 2023 is off to a solid start. In June, the Scarlet Knights landed a commitment from Gavin Griffiths, a four-star recruit out of Connecticut. The forward is ranked the No. 36 player in the nation according to 247Sports.
