TUCSON – The Arizona women’s basketball program has added Matt Herrera and Julian Mills to its staff, as announced by Head Coach Adia Barnes on Sunday.
Herrera joins the program as Manager of Creative Media while Mills will serve as the Video Coordinator.
MATT HERRERA
Herrera joins the Wildcats from Abilene Christian University, where he was the Assistant Director of Creative Media. He additionally gained experience working for the Wichita Falls Warriors Semi Pro Hockey Team. Herrera is a 2022 graduate of Midwestern State University.
“I am so excited that Matt has joined our program,” said head coach Adia Barnes. “Matt has a creative expertise that will help us tremendously in the marketing and branding of the players in our program. Matt has hit the ground running, and I love the passion and energy he works with. He was exactly what I was looking for, and he is extremely talented. I love blue-collar, hard-working people, and he is one of them!”
JULIAN MILLS
Mills brings a wealth of experience to the Arizona staff that includes tenures with multiple NBA teams. He was a Basketball Operations Assistant with the Houston Rockets and worked on the video staffs of the Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors as well as the Austin Spurs, the G-League affiliate of the San Antonio Spurs. The season Mills spent with the Warriors saw the team go 73-9.
“I am thrilled to have Julian join our staff,” said head coach Adia Barnes. “Julian will assist me every day with film breakdown, game prep, and analytics. I recruited Julian from the NBA, where he was highly recommended and did a great job previously with the Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors. We are thrilled to have him here in Tucson. He is a rockstar!”
