Blue Devils Set to Host Open Practice October 22


DURHAM – The Duke women’s basketball team will host an open practice on Saturday, Oct. 22 in Cameron Indoor Stadium. Doors open at 9:30 a.m., with practice slated from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Fans will have the opportunity to catch the Blue Devils in action as the team prepares for an exciting 2022-2023 campaign. Practice is open to any and everyone and will consist of drills, a team scrimmage and a chance to hear from head coach Kara Lawson in a Q&A.

Questions for Coach Lawson can be submitted here, as well as on social media. Following the Q&A, the team will host a meet and greet with the players beginning at 12:30 p.m., in the concourse.

Check-in will be in the Rubenstein Lobby and the South Hall of Honor. Seating for the event will be available on the west side of Cameron Indoor Stadium in sections 13-16 on the upper level and section 17 on the lower level, while parking will be available in the Whitford Lot with overflow parking in the Science Drive Garage. Additionally, the 2022-23 women’s basketball team will be introduced at Countdown to Craziness on Friday, Oct. 21. Doors open at 6 p.m., with fans encouraged to be in their seats by 7:15 p.m., for the player and coaching staff introductions, as well as a chance to catch the team in action.

Countdown to Craziness ticket packages are still available for purchase at $74. The package includes:

  • A reserved ticket to Countdown to Craziness- Friday, October 21st
  • A general admission ticket to Duke Football vs. Virginia Tech- Saturday, November 12th
  • A general admission ticket to Duke Women’s Basketball vs. NC A&T- Monday, November 7th

Duke Athletics will be instituting a clear bag policy for all women’s basketball home games this season starting with the exhibition game against IUP on November 5th.
