Women's Hoops to Host Open Practice Saturday

COLLEGE PARK, MD — The Maryland women’s basketball team will host an open practice for fans on Saturday, Oct. 15 at the XFINITY Center. Doors open at 9 a.m.

The Terrapins will scrimmage, then will host a Q&A session for the fans to get to know this year’s group of Terrapins.

Parking in lots 11B and 9B will be open and fans can enter through gates A, B and C.

Two-time National Coach of the Year Brenda Frese and the Terrapins were picked to finish fourth in the Big Ten by the league’s head coaches and media panel. Diamond Miller, a two-time All-Big Ten honoree, was one of 10 players in the conference named to the Preseason All-Big Ten team earlier this month.

Frese brings in nine new players this season, including AP Honorable Mention All-American honoree Abby Meyers (Princeton), All-SEC transfer Lavender Briggs (Florida), All-AAC transfer Elisa Pinzan (USF), SEC graduate transfer Brinae Alexander (Vanderbilt) and All-CAA transfer Allie Kubek (Towson). Last spring, Frese also signed two top-55 incoming freshmen in Gia Cooke and Brianna McDaniel. Incoming freshman Ava Sciolla and Mila Reynolds signed with Maryland in November, giving the Terrapins a top 10 recruiting class for the 15th time under Frese.

Season tickets and mini packs for the 2022-23 season are now on sale at umterps.com.
