The Boston Celtics reportedly learned that their starting star center will be out for 4-6 week arthroscopic clean-up surgery on the knee Robert Williams III tore a meniscus in at the end of the 2021-22 NBA season, making their already-thin frontcourt depth an even more pressing concern.
With little in the way of proven depth to lean on as Timelord will miss the start of the 2022-23 season has come into even sharper focus, with many analysts suspecting that the Celtics will turn to a veteran free agent big man to help fill the gaps in Boston’s roster.
While there’s a chance that camp invitees could help out, the Celtics have already sent one home and appear poised to explore their options.
